Stockport Green Party announces candidate list, aiming for a full house in Reddish South

13 April 2023

Stockport Green Party has announced its list of candidates for the 4th May local elections.

This year each of the 21 wards in Stockport will have at least one Green candidate, whilst the Greens are aiming to extend their representation in Reddish South ward from their current 2 councillors to the maximum of 3.

In Reddish South the 'Green Team' consists of Liz Crix and Gary Lawson, both of whom already have experience as councillors for their ward, and community campaigner James Frizzell.

James said: "I'm delighted that we have Green Party candidates standing in every single Stockport ward for this rare all out election. It gives everyone the opportunity to vote for a hard working Green Councillor. I'm also excited at the possibility of joining Liz and Gary representing South Reddish, so that we can continue our work as a team looking out for the best interests of our residents and protecting our precious green spaces."

With Gary adding: "The conversations I am having on doorsteps are making me increasingly optimistic that Reddish South residents will elect three Green councillors this time"

Year on year the Green Party has worked as a team to benefit the residents of Stockport, but now we have an opportunity in Reddish South to strengthen those efforts by increasing our numbers on the council. "
