Greens' local election campaign in Stockport boosted by co-leader visit

23 March 2022

National Green Party co-leader Adrian Ramsay visited Stockport yesterday to support local activists in their bid to increase representation on the Council. Adrian Ramsay is the first National leader to visit Stockport in an official capacity, following on from the election of Gary Lawson as the first Green Councillor in Stockport last year.

Adrian visited Heatons Post hub, a not for profit community hub providing space for local artists and businesses in the Heatons and Reddish area, and later campaigned with Green Party members aiming to get Liz Crix elected in the May local council elections.

Adrian said: "It was a pleasure to meet Amanda from the Heatons Post hub. This is a great service to the local community and should be cherished."

"It is clear that Councillor Gary Lawson and Liz Crix have built up a huge amount of trust amongst residents in Reddish South ward. Those that I spoke to appreciated their listening ear and the huge amount of work that they do in the community."
