Stockport Green Party to welcome leading Anti Fracking Campaigner at a Public Meeting

Tina Rothery will be speaking at the Magnet Freehouse  on Tuesday 19th September  at 7.30 pm

We are very lucky that Tina Louise Rothery, activist, writer and Green Party 2017 Parliamentary candidate for Fylde, has agreed to speak at our September Open Meeting. Tina is an incredibly inspiring woman with so many strings to her very finely tuned bow.

Tina tirelessly campaigns against the fracking industry and speaks and writes about this with great wisdom and eloquence, and has spent the last seven months at Preston New Road fracking site peacefully sharing the message re the toxic industry of fracking.

In addition to her campaigning Tina is very keen on working to create harmonious communities.

In Tina's words about what she would like to share with us regarding building great communities: "communities and how we overcome our differences to stand together... activism this intense and continuous bring up all sorts… including women's rights, media bias, our own social judgements and what is this thing we call ‘democracy’ in reality. I genuinely believe though that we all end beautifully because I have seen the power and beauty of neighbours becoming a community that stands together. Activism is often tough and can be soul-destroying - but the gains, are immeasurably greater than the losses. I love conversations more than lectures so would be happy to have plenty of Q&A"

The meeting takes place in our usual venue - the upstairs room of the Magnet Freehouse, 51 Wellington Road North, Stockport SK4 1HJ. You can read Tina's blog at http://tinalouiseuk.blogspot.co.uk/
