I am a chef and have just started my own environmentally friendly catering company. I started working in kitchens to pay for my education, and loved it. I studied Chemistry at the University of Hull, which gave me a love of science and technology. I spend my spare time foraging, creating and love to read science articles.
My interest in politics has been growing for a few years, however, as I have got older the clear problems have become more apparent as more of the NHS is privatised and our public services are turned into private companies, the divide between the poor and rich becomes more defined and harder to escape. I was lucky enough to be able to work to fund my university career, however, with the introduction of top up fees I feel this would be impossible. The Green Party offer a way to a fairer, happier country and world.
I feel our country and world are at a point where we have the science, will and technology to provide everyone with the basics of a fair and good start in life. However, we need to stand up and make this happen as wealth inequality has been rising since the 1980s and from 2000-2014 the UK was the only G7 country to report rising wealth inequality. The Green party will keep public services available to all and give everyone the same chance to achieve. The Greens pledge to increase science funding will ensure we have a stronger, more stable, sustainable and happier future for all.
